First, you have to find the "minecraft" folder. This is located in Library -> Application Support. To get to "Library," open a new Finder window. Click the "Go" tab, hold the option key, and double-click "Library." Double-click "Application Support," then "minecraft."
Now, the only folders you need to pay attention to are "bin," "resources," and "mods." If there is no "mods" folder, make one, but make absolutely sure there are no capitals. Open the "bin" folder in "minecraft" and in "Install." That is, the one in the same folder as this file. In the "Install" bin, copy "minecraft," paste it into the "bin" in "minecraft," and rename it "minecraft.jar"
In your new "mods" folder, copy and paste the file EquivalentExchangeForge.zip from "mods" in "Install." That is what makes the mod do what it does.
But, the mod won't be any good without sound. Open up "resources" in "minecraft" and "Install." Open up the corresponding folders as you go through, ending up in one called "sound." In the "sound" from "Install," copy and paste the .ogg files into the "sound" from "minecraft."
That should do it! Close the folders, run Minecraft, and enjoy alchemy!
